Teenage Choices, a free informal coffee morning discussion for parent and guardians.
Join John Leahy (Drugs Education Officer, HSE Substance Misuse Services), Neil Dennehy (Health Matters) and Derek Fanning (Tipperary Volunteer Centre) for a coffee and a chat on Thursday 1st May at 9:15am at Hillview Sports Centre, Clonmel, E91HC52.
This free session will provide information for parents and guardians on the challenges facing teenagers regarding substance use, nutrition and a fostering a sense of community belonging.
John Leahy will cover the current trends regarding substance use from legal vapes and caffeine drinks through to illegal and prescription drugs.
Neil Dennehy will discuss the importance of proper nutrition for developing bodies.
While Derek Fanning will talk about the positive results that actively participating in communities can bring.
At the end of the session parents and guardians will have a lot more information on substance use and nutrition and will be aware of a number of tools they can use to address these challenges. There will also be time from Questions and Answers.
